Physiotherapy is a health profession that can help you recover from injury or pain, reduce stiffness, improve strength and stability and aid in injury prevention.
We can help you with:
- Back and neck pain
- Sporting injuries
- Women’s health and pelvic floor dysfunction
- Workplace injuries
- Pre and Post operative rehabilitation
- Pre and postnatal care
- Repetitive strain injury (RSI)
- Improving stability
- Muscle imbalances
- Movement disorders
- Poor posture
Physiotherapists use physical therapy techniques such as joint mobilisations, soft tissue therapy (e.g. massage), strengthening, flexibility and motor control exercises to aid in injury and pain management. Physiotherapists use an evidenced based approach which means the treatments used are backed through research.
At Balanced Physiotherapy and Pilates, we start with a 45-minute consultation where we take the time to discuss your ailment, we then perform a physical assessment to determine the possible cause of your pain as well as any contributing factors, and then follow with treatment using suitable therapy techniques. Depending on the cause of your pain you may be given exercises to complete at home to ensure you have the best and fastest recovery.
Please note that a doctors referral is not needed for a physiotherapy appointment (unless claiming through WorkCover, Motor Accidents Authority or DVA). However if you have one please bring it with you.
